Over the years TEAM has worked with our principal partners (the Department of Education and Science, Arts Council, and local authorities) in all areas of first and second level education - Primary and Post Primary, mainstream and special needs, urban and rural, inner city and outer suburb. It is the quality and the diversity of these experiences that have shaped the ethos and realisation of every element of a TEAM programme.
"TEAM Educational Theatre Company has been an almost annual visitor to our school for the past fifteen years. The company has performed for children from infants to sixth class during that time. As well as giving the children the opportunity to experience live theatre in an intimate setting, the follow-up workshop and materials have been thought-provoking and have fitted in very well with various aspects of our SPHE programme. We have found that without exception, the members of TEAM have been very professional, extremely well prepared and very sensitive in their dealing with children of all ages and abilities."

1. PRE-VISIT: A school visit by a member of TEAM's education staff to initiate the program with participating teachers and students.
2. PERFORMANCE: A typical performance lasts about an hour and transports the young audience out of their school environment and into an imaginary world that dramatizes current issues affecting their lives.
3.WORKSHOP(S): The issues raised in the play are examined through a post-show workshop with the actors. This opportunity provides a creative, experiential learning space to mediate between the play and the lives of the students. Some programming includes both parent and a second follow-up student workshop with a professional facilitator.
4.TEACHER RESOURCES/STUDENT PACK: TEAM publishes teachers' resource materials that include suggested preparatory and follow-up activities to help stimulate discussion, raise questions, and reflect on the programme's central themes. Team carefully researches each programme theme and links the resource material activities to age-specific National Curriculum strands. TEAM aims to support teachers in an on-going examination of the topic presented through both traditional and arts-integrated learning strategies.
TEAM is also interested in creating long-term partnerships with schools by developing residency programmes. For information please contact: educationofficer@teamtheare.ie
