TEAM Educational Theatre Company is Ireland’s longest established theatre-in-education (TIE) company. The company has built up a reputation of excellence with many schools that book our programmes year after year. In fact, TEAM cannot meet the huge demand for its programme, and waiting lists develop a year in advance of the tour. TEAM prides itself on producing high quality theatre for young audiences using professional actors to deliver the programme to the highest standards. This has been the key to our continued success over the years.

At the core of TEAM is a policy of care for all employees. We wish to ensure that an actor’s time spent with the company is an enjoyable and fulfilling one. This not only promotes TEAM’s reputation amongst actors as a professional employer, but it also guarantees that actors will return to work for TEAM in the future. As one actor said in his evaluation:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with TEAM and would jump at the chance to work with them again. A lovely company to be involved with!!” (John Paul Miller, Free To Be…You And Me, 2007)

A typical day working for the company includes:

  • Meeting the production manager outside TEAM offices in Dublin 1 in the early morning and heading out to a school.
  • Putting up the set in the school.
  • Performing the play to a maximum of 60 students.
  • Running one or two post show workshops (approx 45mins) in the school with the students who watched the show.
  • Taking down the set.

Although TEAM is based in Dublin the company regularly tours to places such as Dundalk, Monaghan, Meath, Cavan, Sligo, and Donegal. TEAM also participates in a number of festivals including: Baboro Children’s Theatre Festival in Galway, Fizzfest Young People’s Festival Dublin and Opening Doors Children’s Festival in Wales.

TEAM trains actors in manual handling, child protection and workshop facilitation, so that all actors feel confident and comfortable delivering a TIE programme.

Annually TEAM has a primary programme that runs in Spring and a post primary programme that runs in Autumn. If you would like to audition for the company please forward your CV and head shot to: John Breen, Artistic Director, TEAM Educational Theatre Company, 4 Marlborough Place, Dublin 1.
